Built on Jan 30th 1963, its only M codes are M396 (English market) and M191 (belly pans - ready for the Dormobile roof). Shipped to England via Ramsgate where it was converted by Dormobile. First registered in NZ on 10 June 1964.

The original ruby red paint was repainted in 3 colours (red, black & white) with a brush! The bus was repainted by the late Francis Baptist in 2005? to sealing wax red and beige grey, the last bus Francis painted.

We have the original instruction manual and are the 5th owners.

The Kombi featured in the July 2007 issue of Volkswagen Camper (UK) and will be in NZ Life and Leisure November 2008. We purchased the bus from Andrew Bayliss of Cambridge who organised the 2008 Nationals. It took us around 18 months to find this camper, we looked at over 20 before we settled on this one.
